January 2020

Updated: Jan 19, 2021

As we start a new year we like to set up some goals to tackle for the new year. For me, I plan on running over 1,000 miles, reading 25 books, and fasting at least once a month. Jen's goals are to get more comfortable swimming in order to do more triathlons, play ukulele more and fast once a month as well.

Last year went by so fast that it is crazy to look at the things that we will be doing at the end of this year and how close that really is. This year we will move again and start our careers as military pilots. We are not sure what plane we will be flying or where we will be going and won't find out for quite some time. In our eyes, there is not a bad option ahead for us and we are so thankful for that.

This month Jen and I were able to fly the T-6 solo for the first time! It is a tradition in Pilot training to get thrown into a pool after your first solo. I was able to marshall Jen out for her solo and then help with throwing her into the pool.

Unfortunately, Jen was in a class during my solo, but she was there to throw me in the pool! One of my friends was also able to get a video of me landing.

We both passed our check rides at the end of the month and that is about everything I have for this month. Pilot training kept us pretty busy, but now that we finished the first block of training we are getting into the fun stuff! Next month we will have some more things to show, but for now, that is all. Thanks for reading!
